When the sun is shining you might want to spend more time outdoors. However, it can be hard to fit the great outdoors into your life unless you come up with some ideas about things you need to do anyway that can be done outside. Here are six ways to spend more time outdoors.
Dine Al Fresco
Dining al fresco can be a wonderful way to eat as you will feel more relaxed and at one with nature. There are some great ways of going about it too. For example, you could pack a picnic and head off to the local nature reserve. That way you can enjoy some beautiful scenery as you eat. Another terrific way to eat outside is to invite some friends over and throw a barbeque. This is always good fun, and it can be a fabulous way to spend a hot, sunny day.

Exercise Outdoors
Rather than hitting the gym or going to an exercise class, head outside and work out instead. That way you get to enjoy the endorphins through exercise, but you will also benefit from the peace and fresh air that comes with being outdoors. Sports such as golf, tennis, or running are great ways to keep fit in the sunshine – just make sure that you find ways to stay cool on those extremely hot days.
Walk the Dog
Dogs love regular exercise so if you have one this is a fantastic way to spend more time outdoors. If you don’t have one you can always offer to walk a friend or neighbor’s dog instead. You can make lots of good dog-walking friends if you go to places such as the park or the local nature reserve. However, you should not walk dogs when it is too hot outside as it can make them ill.

Work Outside
Working from home has become a lot more popular over the past couple of years but that doesn’t mean you have to sit in your spare bedroom or at your kitchen table to get any work done. It is becoming more popular to work out in the open air, especially on a warm day. It means that you can get some fresh air and feel mentally healthier while you are working, and you may find you get more done too. The garden, local park, or even the beach are fantastic outdoor locations to work from.
Take the Kids to the Park
If you have kids, then chances are they are always pestering you to go to the park. This is a wonderful way of getting outdoors, enjoying the exercise of walking to the park, and having fun with them on the equipment. This is a fabulous way to bond with the kids and enjoy the open air.
