Ah, crushes.
They’re stupid and feel childish (and sometimes very annoying), but they still happen no matter how old you get. Such is life.
What’s most frustrating about having a crush is knowing whether or not your crush likes you back. Maybe you’ve been talking to this person for a couple of months or just a couple of weeks, and you’re dying to know how they feel.
Here are five signs to look at:
1. They contact you first
If your crush initiates conversation, then this is a good sign that they like you. They are putting in the effort to talk to you first because they are probably thinking of you.
Even if it’s something as simple as a text that says “Hey,” they want to know how you’re doing. What’s more, is that they’re willing to risk the rejection of you not replying, and that says something at the end of the day.
2. Check our their Body language
Actions speak louder than words, right? Yes! This is definitely the case when it comes to your crush’s body language. Are they making direct eye contact with you? Do they get close to you when they’re talking to you, brush past your shoulder, lean in, touch your hand, or try to hug you? If you answered yes to one or more of these, then chances are your crush likes you if they are looking for ways to initiate physical touch.
3. They make plans (and follow through)
In today’s world of technology and convenience has allowed people to cancel plans an hour, half an hour, or heck minutes before with one simple text. If someone actually likes you, though, like is really into you, they won’t flake on you.
If someone truly likes you, they’re going to make an effort not to look like a complete moron and cancel on you. They’ll follow through not just once, but every time. Not only this, they’ll be on time. Unforeseen circumstances and traffic aside, if someone really likes you, then they’ll show up…on time.
4. They want to know about your interests
If your crush likes you, then they’ll want to know about your hobbies and interests, so they can share these things with you as well. You can share these at your disclosure, but this is a sure sign that your crush is interested in you and wants to pursue you further.
5. They tell you
This is a case-by-case situation and really just depends on the person that you’re dealing with. Some people will be bold enough to tell you that they are interested in you, while others may be shyer or reserved about this.
If it’s eating you up inside you, then rip the band-aid off and just ask. Chances are they’ll be honest, and even if it’s not the answer that you were hoping at least you know whether or not your crush likes you.
