As part of the Morning Lazziness series about empowering women who encourage and do incredible things with their ideas in society, I had the pleasure of interviewing Phoebe Song.
A child of first-generation immigrants in Australia, Phoebe created the original Snow Fox line inspired by her own Inflammatory Rosacea. Originally intending the brand for professional-only use, her team now cater to both consumers and clinics worldwide while she remains the main driver behind the brand’s innovation & product development.
About Snow Fox
Founded in Australia, Snow Fox Skincare is a fusion brand that merges holistic, botanical treatments with futuristic technology.
The brand’s commitment to quality and efficacy has earned it a loyal following worldwide since 2016, and it has won over 16+ awards internationally. Its most renowned products are clinical-grade, clean sheet masks and handcrafted premium Reflexology tools, like the 24K gold-plated Gua Sha Brush.
Snow Fox continues to push the boundaries of clean skincare with cutting-edge technology and carefully curated ingredients, delivering products that provide both immediate and long-term benefits.
Here’s what we found out about Pheobe’s daily routine, followed by an exclusive Q+A.
Can you share the story behind your journey as an entrepreneur and what inspired you to start your own business?
I was inspired by my own inflammatory Rosacea, which was quite severe. Back when I started in 2016, there weren’t that many professional grade sensitive skin products that catered to my niche but a lot of people were struggling with sensitive skin and redness. So at first, I created a simple 3 step program intended for clinics and spas, but it grew so quickly that we’re mainly a consumer brand these days, though we do still have a lot of professional clientele.
What are the unique selling points of the brand?
We specialize in clinically proven, clean skincare as well as premium Artisanal reflexology tools. We’re probably most well known for our best selling Epidermal Growth Factor Orbs and 24K Gold Gua Sha Hair & Scalp Brushes.
What challenges have you faced as a woman in the business world, and how have you overcome them?
It’s been almost a decade of countless battles as a self funded, independent clean beauty brand! We’ve made some really good decisions and also a lot of mistakes. So my main advice for those who are running their own businesses or planning to start up – is to make sure that you win the war even if you lose a few battles. It’s OK to fail and make mistakes; but make sure that you’re making constructive, consistent progress regardless of the day to day issues. I always tell my team that we need to be good at failing – being good at failing means that you can bounce right back up and keep going. That takes courage, grit and determination. It’s easy to lose morale over small things, but the strong will always keep their heads up. I look for positivity when building a team as well; negative people tend to drain morale and energy, so when hiring, always make sure you hire people that you and your existing team would want to be exposed to for long hours – it’s not only about their technical skill set.
