As part of the Morning Lazziness series about empowering women who encourage and do incredible things with their ideas in society, I had the pleasure of interviewing Angela Mustone.
Angela Mustone, founder and CEO of HighOnLove, has spent over a decade in the beauty and sexual wellness industries, collaborating with prominent companies like Dermalogica and Calexotics. In 2020, she launched HighOnLove to merge her passion for beauty and wellness into a line of high-quality, aesthetically pleasing products designed for women of all ages and sizes. Angela‘s mission is to craft luxurious, feel-good products that elevate intimate experiences and promote self-love. Through HighOnLove, she aims to create indulgent moments that inspire confidence and self-care.
Here’s what we found out about Angela’s daily routine, followed by an exclusive Q+A.
Can you share the story behind your journey as an entrepreneur and what inspired you to start your own business?
My journey started with a belief that intimacy should be as luxurious as our skincare routines. While working in the pleasure industry, I noticed there was a lack of products for women that felt display-worthy, thoughtful and high-quality. That sparked the idea for HighOnLove. I wanted to create a line that not only felt luxurious but also challenged the stigmas around intimacy and made women feel empowered. The magic happened when I discovered the incredible benefits of hemp seed oil, which became the cornerstone of the HighOnLove line.
How does HighOnLove ensure that its products cater to women of all ages, sizes, and skin types?
HighOnLove is all about luxury and quality, and each product is blended with premium hemp seed oil, which is a sustainable ingredient that helps deeply moisturize and soothe skin. Everything we make is clean, cruelty-free, and vegan, so you can feel good about what you’re using. HighOnLove products are made in Canada in small batches to guarantee the best quality.
What challenges have you faced as a woman in the business world, and how have you overcome them?
One of the biggest hurdles was changing the conversation around intimacy products. There’s still a lot of stigma and discomfort around the topic, and breaking down those barriers took time and patience. I wanted people to see that pleasure and intimacy can be a part of their self-care routines. Another challenge was navigating regulations, especially with the inclusion of hemp seed oil. But overcoming these obstacles only fueled my drive to educate people and create products that truly make a difference. The times are changing, and people are recognizing that a healthy sex life is a key facet to overall wellness.
What advice would you give to other aspiring women entrepreneurs who are just starting out?
As a female entrepreneur, I’m really passionate about helping other women succeed. For me, launching HighOnLove was about more than just building a brand—it was about empowering women to embrace pleasure, self-care, and confidence. I want to show other women that it’s possible to thrive in a male-dominated industry and that our ideas matter. I’m also a big believer in women supporting each other, whether through mentorship, collaboration, or just lifting each other up. When we do that, we create more opportunities for all of us to succeed.
