One of my favorite days of the year (besides my born day) is International Coffee Day! As a coffee connoisseur and trained by the Speciality Coffee Association, trying new roasts and learning about new brands and even roasting techniques is fascinating for me. I’m a purist meaning when I order a coffe, that’s all I want – hot, black, slightly swee, good ol’ cup of Joe even the Turkish proverb is “Coffee should be dark as night, sweet as love, and hot as hell”.
So to round it up, these are my NEW drool worthy coffees.
Subscription Based
If you’re looking for a high-end, luxury subscription coffee brand done PERFECT then you’re in luck thanks to ZEND Coffee.
From traditional blends to single origins and even supplemental roasts such as beauty, recovery, and serenity. This is one brand that understood the assignment.
Uncharted Coffee sets out to bring only the best and something unique each month to true coffee aficionado with their exclusively, ethically sourced, rare and limited single-origin beans which are produced by multi-generational coffee farmers across the globe. It’s the perfect cup for starting off a Monday…
Small Business
Since its founding in 2015, Redemption Road Coffee has consistently focused on impacting the world for good.
Everyday I personally strive to be a better human and to give back as much as I can and through Redemption Road you can feel good too knowing that your purchase you are providing medical care to people in Malawi or schooling to kids in Honduras.
Hawaiian coffee is rare and many counterfiets out there but Big Island Coffee Roasters assures you that when you’re enoying your Kona Peabody or Green Hawaiian Coffee you’re getting the best quality (and Award-winning) roast possible.
Gives Back
Arbor Day Coffee When you purchase Arbor Day Coffee, you are helping to positively change the lives of the coffee farmers and their families who call the rain forest home.
The Arbor Day Foundation partners with coffee cooperatives who are on the ground providing quality assurance and technical assistance to farmers. When farmers are free to farm their land with the shade-grown practices they have used for generations — while keeping the farms in their families — it is good for the farmers, their families, and the communities in which they live.
Innovation
Being a nerd, one thing I love is innovation; answering questions such as “how can we serve you better” and one coffee brand that I can think of is Cometeer – Earth’s first hyper-fresh coffee and a whole new way to enjoy your joe.
A frozen capsule that you can quickly release into hot water, stir, and enjoy however you like – hot or iced, black or frothed. You can pre-melt in the fridge to make iced coffees and lattes in seconds, or fully melt quickly in hot water if you’re in a pinch. Partnering brands include: Counter Culture (Durham, NC), Birch (New York, NY), Square Mile (London, UK), Go Get Em Tiger (Los Angeles, CA) and more.
No secret here but we do know that there are some icky side effects from drinking too much coffee but Biodynamic Coffee by Holistic Roasters is changing the game by providing clean coffee sourced exclusively from family-run estates and cooperatives using regenerative farming practices that improve the natural environment.
All of Holistic Roasters’ coffees are certified Biodynamic, Organic, and are lab-tested for contaminants (like mold & heavy metals).
Veteran Owned & Operated
When I was in High School, I wanted to enroll in the Navy but being partially deaf has its cons. Nonetheless, I’ve always been one to appreciate and give my sincere thanks to the men & women who have served our country and continue to do so everyday, putting their life on the line for me is something I can never repay but what I can do is continue to show my gratitude by supporting Veterans and their brands.
To kick this one off, I am loving this Rosie the Riveter, vintage war days branding with Victory Coffee. Founded by a former Navy Seal. Victory Coffee knows that your days ahead may be battlefield but at least you can start the day right knowing you had an amazing cup of coffee. With Navy and Army inspired roast names such as “Leatherneck”, “Trooper”, “Sailor”, “Airman” and more – it’s no wonder this is an Award-winning brand, the delicious coffee is just the icing on the cake!
Putting specialty coffee front and center to create an innovative coffee line that inspires community connection and family is what The Drip Collective is all about.
I love following them on Instagram as they share “must-have” coffee hacks to help you recreate your favorite one-million dollar drink from the coffee shop at home.
22 Salute prioritizes supporting the Veteran and first responder communities by returning the favor and help them lead honorable lives by donating a portion of our profits toward improving quality of life for Veterans and first responders, and reducing the rising suicide rate. Another great cup of coffee for an even greater cause.
Coffee Alternatives & substitutes
OK let’s shake things up a bit. For starters, I seriously, strongly, protein powder shakes; every single one that I’ve tried thus far has always had that grainy, protein powder taste – slash – aftertaste and I just can’t roll with that, so when I was introduced to CHIKE Coffee I was very hesitant but fast forward to five shakes later, this is my new must-have every morning.
It tastes just like your favorite iced latte but better and healthier.
My days are pretty long – the fur babies wake me (and the rest of the apartment complex) up around 5:30am and usually after our adventurous stroll in the park, I usually make myself a cup of coffee before getting my day ready – by 1:30 in the afternoon I want a nap, but sometimes I just can’t deadlines, conference calls, or just work in general so when I tried Anima Mundi Herbal Coffee aka Happiness Powder during my midday slump this past week; wow. Not only delicious but this drink just hits you differently.
Made with happy herbs such as Ashwagandha, Rhodiola, Mucuna, Albizia and St John’s Wort herbs with roasted Dandelion, roasted Chicory, Maca, Lucuma, Burdock, Mesquite and real organic Vanilla.
Iced / Cold Brews / Nitro
I don’t really have a sweet tooth but when I do, I crave a delicious Iced Caramel Oat Milk Latte and one that I can grab on the go that has just the right sweetness comes from Rise Brewing Co with their Salted Caramel Oat Milk Latte that comes niitro infused giving it that “ahhh” when opened and creamy deliciousness. Other flavors include; Original Black, Oat Milk Latte, Oat Milk Mocha, Oat Milk Vanilla Latte, and London Fog Tea Latte which are all USDA Certified organic non-dairy.
I hope you get a chance to try these delicious and amazing brands of coffee!
