21 Things Every Woman Should Carry in Her Handbag

The one item that no lady can leave the house without is her more gorgeous exceptional handbag. I am a self-employed working woman, and my handbag is a life-saver for me on special occasions since I know what to put in it.

Friends frequently inquire as to why I carry so much in my handbag- you can bring fewer items. But who knows what is needed in whatever circumstance?

Nothing ever surprises me. I always have it with me, whether it’s my charger, medications, tampons, mirror, cash, sanitizer, or something else. Life’s most expected and unexpected situations become simpler to deal with when I have these items in my purse.

If you’re a professional or an independent woman who wants to leave the house unencumbered yet always prepared, then check out my top life-saver essentials. Your confidence, personality, safety, health, and sanitization are constantly on point with these things.

Charger

The charger is the lifeline of all my gadgets, given the amount of screen time I regularly spend as a blogger, social media influencer, and author. Because I am energized and can easily connect with my clients when my phone is charged. I’m doomed without the charger. As a result, it’s my first handbag.

Sanitary pads, tampons, or cups

I must admit that I am prone to forgetfulness, especially when it comes to my periods. I don’t write the date on my calendar, which is incorrect. But that’s just the way I am. As a result, carrying sanitary pads is a life-saving need for me.

Furthermore, there have been other situations when my girlfriends have needed it the most.

PS: You never know who may require it. So, to be safe, keep it with you at all times.

Hair stuff: scrunchies, rubber bands, hair bands, clips, or clutches

I can’t fathom carrying my purse without them. My hair is mostly unruly. They’re one of my favorites because they give me a nice look when floating around.

On the other hand, loose hair is awful in the summer or when it’s too humid. They start to adhere to my neck or lose their shape.

Scrunchies and rubber bands come to the rescue at this point. I don’t let them ruin my look and keep seeming confident enough to take control of the day.

Additionally, tying our hair can occasionally transform and improve our appearance, so you must have it in your handbag.

A small wallet

For many, this is an optional feature. If I’m only traveling a short distance, I like to keep my cash in a little pouch rather than a large wallet. It’s convenient and doesn’t take up much room in my handbag. A little pouch should be your first choice if you don’t want to carry your financial cards, ID cards, or travel cards with you every day.

It’s a win-win situation.

Pen

This is one important thing you should never forget. Carrying your signature pen on hand, whether you need to sign documents or jot down your ideas in a diary. It also doesn’t take up a lot of room in your handbag.

Diary / notebook / notepad

A tiny notebook or diary is always useful. It also doesn’t add to the weight of your handbag. You should carry it with you to work or meet with clients. Because you never know what you’ll need to remember.

Sanitizer and extra mask

We all know how COVID-19 has changed our way of protecting ourselves. Hence, carrying a sanitizer and an extra mask is of utmost importance. Carry a bottle of sanitizer every time you are heading out, especially if you are going to populated places like cafes, malls, diners, theaters, etc.

Similarly, you never know who needs an extra fresh mask. But don’t hand out your extra used mask to anyone. That’s unhygienic and vulnerable to others’ health.

Pee safe spray

As a woman, I understand how difficult it is to use public restrooms when you are more susceptible to sickness.

Some restrooms are entirely unusable since they are still damp from recent use. It disgusts me to no end. But I can’t avoid answering nature’s call. As a result, the Pee Safe Spray bottle is quite effective. I only need a few sprays to make the toilet seat safe for me to use.

These bottles aren’t particularly heavy. They are also available in small sizes.

Sunglasses

Keep your favorite pair of sunglasses in hand when you are stepping outside the house—there’s no need to put them in the bag because our eyes are the most delicate part of our bodies. And the sun’s UV rays are intended to injure our eyes; you should wear sunglasses, an umbrella, or a scarf to shield your skin from the rays that cause damage, blackness, or dullness.

Mint or any chewing gum

Mint sweets and chewing gum take up almost no room in your handbag. After any meal, you can use them as a mouth-freshener. They leave your mouth feeling refreshed and help your gut digest recently consumed meals more quickly.

Earphones or air pods

Use them to pass the time and avoid boredom while waiting for your dear ones. Suppose you are a commuter just like me. In that case, you must be knowing how an ordinary day can turn into a beautiful one just with carrying earphones.

Mirror

A little mirror is an absolute must-have. If you care about your image, don’t ignore it. This product is useful for those last-minute touch-ups before an important client or a long-overdue date.

Comb

Do you want to arrive at your friend’s place after a long workday? Do you want to seem attractive and elegant? Then a wooden comb can be your life-saver, and within a minute or so, it will completely calm down all those wild curls. You look all-set and prepared to hit the party.

Make-up kit

Things Every Woman Should Have in Her Bag

Women on the go always have their make-up kits in their handbags. This might contain things like your favorite facial cleanser, mascara, eyeliner, lip gloss, foundation + primer, contour, nail polish, make-up remover, and other similar products- to boost a glammed-up appearance.

It all depends on the look you want to go for that particular day.

Lipsticks, lip gloss, or lip balm

Lip balm is my preferred method of the application over lipstick. But I don’t have a choice when it comes to parties and date evenings. The only way out is to look my best. As a result, I always have a lipstick hue in my purse to spice up my sophisticated look.

Lip gloss, on the other hand, is great for late-night gatherings to make my lips look plumper. To keep my lips hydrated, I mostly use lip balm when I go out with my pals for the day.

Sunscreen

If you reside in a hot and polluted metropolitan city, you must use at least an SPF 30+ or SPF 40+ sunscreen. If you’re in a mountainous area, though, an SPF 20 sunscreen will suffice.

Additionally, sunscreens protect your skin from UV rays for more than 2-4 hours. So, keep this in mind anytime you’re out in the sun, whether you’re partying, relaxing, or working.

You can, however, skip the sunscreen at night.

Moisturizer

Long periods in the sun cause your skin to dry out and crack. Then, drinking water doesn’t help at all in resolving such problems. Finally, moisturizer is the product to rely on because it leaves your skin silky smooth. However, you must select the appropriate one.

Don’t buy Cocoa since it’s too sticky for July. In the summer, Aloe Vera or products that auto-hydrate the skin is ideal.

However, before purchasing any skin care product, I strongly advise you to conduct extensive online research and consult with a certified dermatologist.

Safety pins

For a modern woman, these pins are unsung heroes. You never know when the strap on your sandals or any other component of your outfit will tear. There are also times when your bra hooks snap. You can’t let those misfortunes destroy your day or your mood. That’s when safety pins come in handy, allowing you to finish the temporary stitch in minutes.

Handkerchief, tissue, or wet wipes

A handkerchief is essential for wiping away grime, smog, and dust when you’re out and about. If that isn’t an option, use tissues that are designed to be used and discarded. Wet wipes are also useful for hydrating your face when you’re out in the sun or just want to remove the excess oil.

Band-aids

These are very random stuff to bring around, and they never take up much room in your precious purse. These are paper-thin, inexpensive, and readily available in medical supply stores. A band-aid will eventually stop a serious cut anywhere on the body from bleeding profusely. All you have to do is peel it and wrap it around the cut.

Deodorant or perfume

A woman with a busy social life must always have deodorant in her handbag.

To have a personality and blend well with people, you must smell good. People ewww… socializing with individuals who stink. You’re not going to like it either.

Select a deodorant that is appropriate for your personality. Alternatively, perfumes frequently last longer than deodorants.

Other Few Miscellaneous Items for Your Bag To Meet Specific Conditions:

  • Lighter – if you smoke
  • Pepper spray or mace – when going out alone, especially at night and through a secluded location.
  • Medicines if you have any
  • USB flash drive – to store data
  • Keys – to open various doors
  • Nail clipper – used very little while traveling to cut nails, but it’s up to you.
  • Reading glasses – specifically for reading purposes.

Conclusion

These are the must-haves that may frequently make or break a woman’s day or night out. That’s not all, though. You can make your own essentials list that suits your lifestyle. However, as a modern professional woman, don’t forget to keep a sanitizer + mask, sanitary pads, wallets, ID cards, chargers, and cash in your bag.
